For quite some time, I have been pursuing a dream of bringing in conductor and educator Jeffrey Grogan to work with the Pioneer Orchestras in some capacity. His reputation for achieving musical excellence, while caring about the quality of educational instruction, and showing appreciation for his players is inspiring for all of us. I am delighted to announce that Maestro Grogan has agreed to conduct the Pioneer Symphony Orchestra at Hill Auditorium for Orchestra Night 2019! The plan is to program something more contemporary that is a little outside of what our students are used to. He will be in residence from February 10-12, 2019! Looking forward to all that Maestro Grogan brings to the GRAMMY award winning Pioneer Music Department!
Most recently, Maestro Grogan spent his summer of 2018 working with El-Sistema students from around the country at an event called, "National Take a Stand". This event was presented by the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Gustavo Dudamel.
